Serotonin Swim This Sunday 26th April
High as the sky + Magical Migration!
Research shows that cold water immersion can increase alertness and focus through activation of the nervous system - Mikael P. J. Buijze 2016
Swim or dip anytime between 9am and 11am this Sunday 26th April at Jesus Green Lido.
Forecast is bright ☀️
This is one of my favourite moments in the lido season. The water is getting close to 15 degrees, which can feel cold initially, but our body quickly adjusts.
The cold buzz without the post swim shivering that is common in the winter months.
You will receive recognition and an edible treat for swimming to the first set of steps (about 20 meters).
For many people, this is all it takes to notice a positive change in how they feel, which carries over into the rest of the day. We find it easier to focus, gain perspective, and get on with the things that most need our attention.

P.S – There are problems with the Better Lido booking system and app. Ignore it if it says the pool is full, just come—there will definitely be a place for you!his Sunday!

Migrate Back to The Joy of the Lido
Did you know that that The Arctic tern bird, travels up to 25,000 miles each year to return to the UK in spring, one of the longest journeys in the natural world!
If an Arctic tern can travel that distance to get back to the UK, I think it’s possible many of us who take the winter season off could make the journey back to the lido this Sunday!
Reach One Person Initiative
Each year in my day job I support around 5000 people to create habits to support their mental wellbeing. One of the most effective techniques to improve our cognitive abilities and resilience is strengthening our connection with others.
I’m piloting the Reach One Person Initiative in the first week of May. You can see a 1-minute video where I explain the inspiration here.
I’ll share a link where you can register next week. It’s fully funded and inclusive.
Invite one person to come to the lido with you this Sunday. It’s OK if they can’t come, it’s the invite that matters.
The aim is simple: reach out to one person with a small, genuine invite or message
No need to fix anything: just showing up and listening is enough
Connection matters: a small moment can help remind a person that someone cares and they’re not alone
Did you know?
Reaching out to someone else can boost your own mood as much as theirs ✅
Feeling supported by just one person can significantly improve resilience during stressful times ✅
Regular small interactions can improve focus and cognitive performance ✅
